      1920 & 1930 Censuses - Based on his wife's border crossing record (returning to the U.S. for a visitin 1932), the 1916 Canada census and a total inability to find Arthur and his wife and children in the 1920 and 1930 U.S. censuses, it appears that they left for Canada sometime before 1916 and those who returned did so after 1932.

    Niels Bergeson 1st Family
    Niels Bergeson and Olive Matilda Jensen (inset) married in 1863 in Ordrup, Denmark. They had 15 children. Both Dagmar and Niels Benjamin died in Denmark, she at seven months and he at four months. Oliver died at birth in Lewiston, Utah. William Erastus was just over one year of age when he died in Lewiston. This photo shows the 11 living children.

    Bergeson Maternity Home
    This pencil drawing by Jane O'Keefe, shows the original home of Niels and Olive Matilda Bergeson in southeast Lewiston, Utah, which they occupied after moving from the dugout in the same area. Later it became a maternity home and Jane Reader Bergeson ran the home from 1939 to 1949, assisting in the birth of over 100 babies.
